En 2012 tuve mi primera cámara fotográfica y desde entonces la fotografía ha formado parte importante de mi quehacer artístico. Hospital es mi primera serie fotográfica. Tuve la oportunidad de fotografiar dos hospitales del Estado de Mexico el primero en 2012 y el segundo en 2016. En esta serie quería saber en carne propia lo que mi papá nos contaban sobre vivir/trabajar en el hospital; quería romper con la aproximación a lxs cuerpxs como se ve en la escuela de arte (modelaje, cuando el cuerpo posa o permanece estático), quería enfrentarme a lxs cuerpxs en una situación social. Presenciar lxs cuerpxs en una situación cotidiana como es el caso de doctorxs, enfermerxs y trabajadorxs, o situaciones de paso, como el hecho de estar enfermx o de permanecer en el hospital.

In 2012 I had my fist camera and since then, the photography has been part of my artwork. “Hospital” is my first photographic series. I had the opportunity of taking photos in two hospitals from Mexico State, the first one in 2012 and the second one in 2016. In this series, on one hand I wanted to know by first hand what my father used to tell us about living/working in a hospital; on the other hand I wanted to break with the static approximation to the bodies such as modeling or when the body poses or remains static. I wanted to confront bodies in a social situation, to face bodies on an everyday situation such as doctors, nurses or hospital workers, and also on a passing situation such as being sick or being the patient.
