Rutina (La casa-taller-oficina), 2020.

Daniela Flores y Carmen Huizar en su proyecto “L/M/M/J/V/S/D” invitaron a 7 artistas a realizar Guiones / instructivos / manuales, sobre las actividades que realiza cada artista en un día (24 horas) "¿Qué es lo que hace un artista cuando se queda solo en el estudio? Mi conclusión fue que si yo era un artista y yo estaba en el estudio, entonces todo lo que estuviera haciendo en el estudio debería ser arte" B.N.  Si el espacio para vivir y para trabajar de elx artista es el mismo (casa-estudio), entonces todo lo que haga aquí debería ser arte.

Para mí, fue importante destacar y equiparar mi trabajo (ganarme la vida) con hacer arte, así como reconocer que el trabajo doméstico son actividades cíclicas de habitar una casa. Sin embargo, considero que es fundamental seguir luchando para que el trabajo de las artistas sea remunerado y podamos dedicarnos a tiempo completo a nuestros proyectos. Visualizo un momento en el que se inviertan las actividades que estamos realizando, permitiéndonos tener tiempo completo y suficiente en nuestros talleres, consultorios, laboratorios, oficinas, salones o espacios de creación, y que nuestro trabajo sea valorado económicamente, para continuar tejiendo espacios seguros entre nosotras.

Daniela Flores and Carmen Huizar, in their project "L/M/M/J/V/S/D," invited 7 artists to create scripts/instructions/manuals about the activities they engage in during a day (24 hours). "What does an artist do when they are alone in the studio? My conclusion was that if I am an artist and I am in the studio, then everything I do in the studio should be considered art" B.N. If the space for living and working for the artist is the same (home-studio), then everything done here should be considered art.

For me, it was important to highlight and equate my work (earning a living) with creating art, as well as recognizing that domestic work is a cyclical activity of inhabiting a house. However, I believe it is crucial to continue fighting for artists' work to be remunerated so that we can dedicate ourselves full-time to our projects. I envision a moment in which the activities we are engaged in are reversed, allowing us to have full and sufficient time in our studios, offices, laboratories, or creative spaces, and for our work to be economically valued, in order to continue weaving safe spaces among ourselves.
